What flooring offers a “wood-look''?

Sometimes you want wood! Sadly, it's not always possible, whether because of water issues or a wallet that says "no."

The good news, however, is that modern technology like embossing exists. This means you can have beautiful wood-look new floors, complete with knots, raised grains, and textures.

Luxury vinyl plank

This is one of the most popular wood looks. Also referred to as LVP flooring, the vinyl is cut into strips and mounted on board to mimic hardwood planks.

There are hundreds of photographs from which to choose. You can get any color from light and dark to gray, whitewashed, and blazing red Brazilian cherry.

The material is also cut into square, tile-sized pieces. Many use them to create wood look tiles, which are trending so hot right now.

Come into our flooring store to see gorgeous designs from the brands you know and trust. These include COREtec, Armstrong, Congoleum, RevWood Plus, etc.

Laminate: Long considered an affordable alternative to wood floors

Laminate has better seaming, high definition photography, and modern technology. This gives it the authentic look and feel of hardwood.

Rustic textures and embossed-in-register

Textures put the finishing touch on a wood floor. With genuine wood, it's often done by hand. With embossing, similar looks such as wire-brushed, hand scraped, and distressed are accomplished with embossing.

For the most authentic look and feel of hardwood, ask our flooring company about embossed-in-register (EIR). This refers to minor indentations that match those of the wood grain image.

Wood look tile

Inkjet Technology creates intricate patterns with raised grains, color variations, and textures. Tiles are cut into planks of any size.
